Theme parks, hotels and everyone who keeps them running

Kissimmee sits right next to the theme parks, and a lot of Osceola works in them or around them: hotels along US 192, vacation rental cleaning and maintenance, restaurants, rideshare, construction. Many people hold two jobs, and some of those jobs are part-time or seasonal with no health plan. St. Cloud, Celebration, Poinciana and Buenaventura Lakes have grown fast too.

Osceola also has a large Puerto Rican and Hispanic community. This page has a Spanish version, and the chat on our site answers in Spanish.

Most of these sold HMOs. Florida Blue also had PPO, EPO and POS plans, and Cigna's plans here were EPOs. AvMed offered Platinum in Osceola, which it didn't in Pinellas or Lee. The 2027 list can change, and your quote shows what's current.

AdventHealth, Orlando Health and your network

AdventHealth and Orlando Health both run hospitals in Osceola, and many people here also use their larger hospitals in Orlando. Nine companies can mean very different networks for the same doctor.

Search your doctors and the hospital you'd use in each plan's directory, and call the office to confirm before you enroll. Don't go by the company name.

Job coverage, new arrivals and the coverage gap

If your employer offers a plan that's affordable and meets the minimum value standard, you usually can't get a tax credit on the Marketplace. If you're part-time, seasonal or not offered a plan, you can. Count all your income for the year, including tips and second jobs.

Moving to Florida, including from Puerto Rico, can open a Special Enrollment Period, usually for 60 days. Florida did not expand Medicaid, so adults earning under the poverty level often get neither a tax credit nor Medicaid. Children may qualify for Florida KidCare, which takes applications any time.

ACA Marketplace

ACA prices depend on your income and age. Run the form to see your exact prices with your tax credit.

Marketplace prices depend on age, ZIP and income, and our subsidies page shows how the 2027 credit is figured.

HPG is fixed indemnity, not full health insurance. It pays set amounts, such as $10 per generic prescription fill on Select 2000. It has no out-of-pocket maximum, isn't minimum essential coverage, asks health questions, and doesn't cover counseling the way ACA plans must. Check the brochure.

Common questions

How many companies sold Obamacare plans in Osceola County in 2026?

Nine: Florida Blue, Ambetter Health, Molina Healthcare, Oscar Health, UnitedHealthcare, AvMed, Wellpoint, AmeriHealth Caritas Next and Cigna Healthcare.

I work at a theme park and they offer insurance. Can I still get a tax credit?

Usually not, if the plan is affordable and meets minimum value. If you're part-time or the job doesn't offer a plan, you can apply for the credit.

I just moved here from Puerto Rico. Do I have to wait until November?

A move to Florida can open a Special Enrollment Period, usually 60 days. Puerto Rico's government health plan doesn't carry over, so look at your options soon after you arrive.

I live in Poinciana. Is that Osceola or Polk?

Poinciana crosses both counties, and some ZIPs there are in both lists. Your street address decides which county's plans you get.

Can I get help in Spanish?

Yes. The chat on our site answers in Spanish, and you can switch this page to Spanish.
