Jacksonville is a Navy town, with NAS Jacksonville and Naval Station Mayport. When you leave active duty and your TRICARE ends, that loss of coverage opens a Special Enrollment Period, usually 60 days. Don't wait until the last week, or you may have a stretch with no coverage.

Open Enrollment for 2027 runs November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027. Enroll by December 15 for coverage that starts January 1. After January 15, you need a Special Enrollment Period.
